About Ben

I joined Labour as a teenager and have been an activist ever since, fighting for the party in every general, local, mayoral and European election.

First elected as a Labour councillor in Fulham in 2014, I am now Deputy Leader of Hammersmith & Fulham council.

As Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care, I led the public health response to keep residents safe during Covid and the campaign to Save Charing Cross Hospital alongside local residents when the Conservatives threatened to close it.

I’ve lived here for 30 years. I entered a civil partnership in 2008 at the beautiful Fulham Town Hall – since shamefully sold off by the Conservatives at a knock-down price.

I’ve worked as a business consultant and a campaigner and ran the European Business Unit at a large accounting firm, supporting SMEs to make the most of EU opportunities.

I have helped numerous charities build effective strategies and successful campaigns, including Every Disabled Child Matters and the Campaign to End Loneliness.

Backing a winner

Polls suggest Labour can win this seat and help secure a Labour government with Keir Starmer as Prime Minister.

But it won’t be easy. Greg Hands will throw everything he has at us to keep his grip on Chelsea and Fulham. All those who believe our constituency deserves better will need to come together to beat him.

Ben has a record of leading teams that win large swings to Labour. In 2014, his team in Fulham Broadway achieved a swing of 15.1%, the largest in the borough, winning Labour the Council. Ben and his team have increased Labour’s share of the vote at each election since.
